**Answer: (a) 5: 12**

**Solution:-**

The ratio of ages of Meena and her mother = 3: 8

Let the age of Meena and her mother be 3 X & 8 X

The difference of their ages is 35 years.

Then, 8 X – 3 X = 35

5 X = 35

X = 35/5

X = 7

Then, the age of Meena and her mother are 3 X = 3 x 7 = 21 years & 8 X = 8 x 7 = 56 years.

So, the ration of their ages after four years = (21 + 4)/(56 + 4)

= 25/60

= 5: 12

Hence, the correct answer is option (a) 5: 12.
