    September 27

World Tourism Day is Observed as 27 September. On 27 September 1970 United Nations adopted the Statutes of the United Nations World Tourism Day short for UNWTO. Adoption of these Statutes is considered a milestone in global tourism. World Tourism Day is commemorated each year on 27 September since 1980. On this event each year UNWTO invites all interested parties to take part on 27 September every year in the special celebrations taking place in their respective country or holiday destination. On this event, each year has a theme which are selected by the UNWTO General Assembly. 2015 theme is ‘Millions of tourists, millions of opportunities.’
